Nebraska Tornadoes, 1950 through 2008:
Listed by County and Ranked from Highest Density to Lowest Density

"Area" is in sq. miles,
"Density" is equivalent number of tornadoes per 1000 sq.miles.

Density is calculated by taking the total number of tornadoes divided by the area and then multiplying by 1000.  For example:  Hall County = (70/546) * 1000 = 128.2 tornadoes per 1000 square miles.

The 1950-2006 data are listed along with the 1950-2008 data in the table and the 2007 and 2008 tornado county occurrences are also noted.  This allows a quick look at the recent activity compared to the long term data.
Density is calculated by taking the total number of tornadoes divided by the area and then multiplying by 1000.  For example:  Hall County = (70/546) * 1000 = 128.2 tornadoes per 1000 square miles.
